 n Airmen in California's High Sierra”
DESCRIPTION:In October 2005\, two mountaineers on Mendel Glacier in Califor
 nia’s High Sierra found the mummified remains of a man in a World War II
  uniform\, entombed in the ice. The “Frozen Airman” discovery created 
 a media storm and a mystery that drew author Peter Stekel to investigate. 
 What happened to the four-man crew who perished on a routine navigation tr
 aining flight in 1942\, 150 miles off-course from its reported destination
 ? In attempting a solution to the mystery\, Stekel became part of the stor
 y when he found the remains of a second Frozen Airman in the glacier’s i
 ce.\n\nThis lecture is included with your admission to the Flying Heritage
  Collection\, and takes place during our Battle of Britain Fly Day where y
 ou will be able to see rare WWII warbirds fly.
