SUMMARY:FHC Presents: On the Warpath in the Pacific
DESCRIPTION:Join us at the Flying Heritage Collection as Professor Jason Mc
Hale discusses an icon of WWII’s Pacific Theater – “Jocko” Clark.\
nAfter becoming the first Native American to graduate from the U.S. Naval
Academy during the First World War\, Joseph James “Jocko” Clark went o
n to become one of the pioneers in the creation of the air navy. He earned
his wings in 1925 and never looked back. He became a vocal advocate for n
aval aviation and an accomplished pilot. His flamboyant\, aggressive\, and
sometimes brash personality made him an excellent “fighting admiral”
for the United States during the Second World War and in the early years o
f the Cold War. Worshipped by his men\, and despised by those who were on
the receiving end of his infamous tongue\, Clark excelled at the tasks pla
ced before him. From commanding individual carriers\, including the famed
Fighting Lady\, USS Yorktown (CV-10)\, to carrier task groups in Task Forc
e 58\, and eventually the Seventh Fleet after the war\, Clark’s unique s
tyle saw him get the best out of his men and equipment and produced some a
mazing tales along the way.\n\nTickets\nPresale Tickets (until 5 PM day of
  event): Youth $7 | Members\, Volunteers\, and Veterans $10 | General Admi
ssion $15. Tickets at the Door: Youth $10 | Members Volunteers\, and Veter
 ans $15 | General Admission $20
