After 45 years on the ground and decades underwater, a rare Curtiss SB2C Helldiver flew again at the National Museum of World War II Aviation. Recovered from Lake Washington and meticulously restored, BuNo 75552 made its public flying debut on July 19, telling a powerful story of wartime service, loss, and revival.
