Who is the best pilot you ever saw? If you ever watched one of the greatest aviation movies ever produced, you’ll be familiar with Dennis Quaid brilliantly playing Gordon Cooper who throughout the film rehearses this very question again and again.  Well…The Right Stuff is coming back in the format of a drama television series, always based on the 1979 book of the same name by Tom Wolfe, and is set to premiere on October 9, 2020 on Disney+.

The period drama, starring Patrick J. Adams and Jake McDorman, will launch with a two-episode premiere on Friday, October 9. Based on the bestselling book by Tom Wolfe, the eight-episode season looks at the early days of the U.S. Space Program and tells the story of America’s first astronauts, the Mercury 7. The Right Stuff is produced by Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appian Way and Warner Horizon Scripted Television.

Disney kicked off the countdown to the series’ premiere on Thursday with a new two-minute trailer providing an extended look at some of the drama and action that will comprise the eight-episode first season of “The Right Stuff.”
