Hughes Glomar Explorer Mission to Raise a Russian Submarine is presented by Bob Anderson. In 1968, a diesel powered Russian submarine left the port of Vladivostok on a mission in the Pacific ocean. A series of explosions occurred and the submarine , armed with nuclear tipped missiles and torpedoes disappeared. The events of the next six years constituted an undercover operation of incredible magnitude. The Glomar Explorer was designed and constructed for the sole purpose of salvaging as much of the Russian submarine as possible.
