After being involved with Vintage Wings of Canada (VWOC) for the last three years as a volunteer pilot and event organizer, Todd Lemieux has been named Chairman of the Board for the organization, agreeing to take a hiatus from his primary career wresting oil and natural gas from Canada’s end of the vast Bakken Shale Formation.

Todd Lemieux is a physicist and geologist who has worked in the oil patch of Saskatchewan and Alberta for nearly two decades and has been flying since his early teens, joining the Royal Canadian Air Cadets (RCAC) at the age of 15 in his home town of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.

The overarching goal of Mr. Lemieux’s leadership of the organization is to get it on the path to self-sustainability independent of its current reliance on founder Michael U. Potter’s continuing largess which is necessary for the long-term viability of Canada’s premiere private vintage aircraft conservator.

In keeping with his history with the RCAC, which he credits with giving him the tools that helped him achieve the successes he enjoyed later in life, Todd is the leader of the Yellow Wings 2013 Cross Canada Cadet Tribute where his responsibilities include securing sponsors, donors, and corporate contributors, organizing the Yellow Wings’ schedule and recruiting pilots, so clearly heading up Vintage Wings of Canada is already well within his established skill set.
