Thunder Over Michigan Adds 11th Corsair to Lineup!!!

Following on from our article on February 22, we can now report that the Yankee Air Museum has been able to secure the addition of an eleventh Corsair to their air show line up for this year’s Thunder Over Michigan air show in Ypsilanti, Michigan during the weekend of August 3/4. The latest ‘bent wing bird’ scheduled to attend is the Mid America Flight Museum’s Goodyear-built FG-1D Corsair Bu.92471. If all of these Corsairs are able to attend, it will surely be the biggest gathering of airworthy Corsairs in one location since the days when they were still flying with the French Navy (Aéronavale) during the early 1960s. Thunder Over Michigan is clearly going to be a Must-See air show this year, as the chances of such a gathering happening again anywhere else are pretty slim.
