PRESS RELEASE – f you’re looking for something exciting to entertain the children this February Half Term, the Royal Air Force Museum Cosford is inviting families to participate in a fun model making activity. Taking place from Monday 17th to Friday 21st February, visitors will have the opportunity to build either an Airfix 1:72 Sopwith Pup or an Airfix 1:72 Albatross.These World War One Airfix Models will be built alongside the full sized aircraft on display at the Museum in a communal and fun atmosphere. You don’t have to be a skilled modeller to take part as staff will be there to lend a hand and to ensure visitors get the most from their modelling. Plus, if you need a little inspiration as to how to paint your Airfix model, sessions will be taking place next to the famous 1:1 scale Airfix model Spitfire built by James May for the BBC Toy Stories series.

Nina Mitchell, RAF Museum Cosford Events Executive says:“We have run model making events before in the past and it has always been extremely popular with families. Visitors taking part during February Half Term are sure to have fun building these Airfix World War One models. Plus all modellers will get to take their collectable Airfix model Sopwith Pup or Albatross home as a memento of the day.”

The model making activity will be taking place in the Museum’s Hangar 1 and sessions will run from 11.00am to 3.00pm each day. Participation is just £3.00 per person and all materials including glue, paints and brushes will be provided by the Museum. Tickets are available on the day from the Admissions Desk.

With 24 years in the U.S., he now flies full-time for a Part 91 business aviation company in Atlanta. He is actively involved with the Commemorative Air Force, the D-Day Squadron, and other aviation organizations. He enjoys life with his supportive wife and three wonderful children.
