PRESS RELEASE

DAYTON, Ohio –During the holiday season, the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force will be closed on Sunday, Dec. 25 (Christmas Day) and Sunday, Jan. 1 (New Year’s Day). The museum will re-open on its normal schedule Dec. 26 and Jan. 2 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.

In addition, the museum will also be closed on Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2023, due to emergency management response training. Emergency response agencies from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and nearby communities will participate in this training exerciseThose traveling near the museum on Jan. 25 may experience alert sirens, temporarily blocked roadways or travel delays, and should plan accordingly.

In 2022 we proudly celebrate 75th anniversary of the United States Air Force. Throughout the year we will host a variety of events and exhibits to share the history of the Air Force and the stories of our airmen with the public.

The National Museum of the U.S. Air Force, located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton, Ohio, is the world’s largest military aviation museum. With free admission and parking, the museum features more than 350 aerospace vehicles and missiles and thousands of artifacts amid more than 19 acres of indoor exhibit space.
