The Vulcan to the Sky Trust has announced new tour dates for its celebrated Vulcan XH558 experience at Doncaster Sheffield Airport. Aviation enthusiasts and history buffs alike can now reserve their place to walk beneath the iconic delta wing of Britain’s last airworthy Avro Vulcan, meet the volunteer engineering team, and explore every corner of this legendary Cold War bomber.

Each tour session—available as a morning slot from 10:00 to 12:00 or an afternoon slot from 13:30 to 15:30—is limited in size to ensure an intimate, up‑close encounter with XH558. Upon arrival at the Trust’s office, a short transfer from the aircraft’s parking position, guests receive a warm welcome and briefing over tea or coffee before completing the necessary security formalities. Guided by seasoned volunteers, they then board a coach for passage into the secure apron where XH558 stands ready.

Once alongside the aircraft, visitors spend approximately ninety minutes immersed in its history and maintenance. They begin with an under‑wing walk to admire the thousands of supporter names painted beneath the vast delta wing, then move on to speak with volunteer engineers about the routine tasks—such as oil changes, inspections, tests, and minor repairs—required to keep the “Spirit of Great Britain” airworthy. A climb into the flight deck offers a firsthand look at the Vulcan’s complex controls and instrumentation, while a tour through the cavernous bomb‑bay reveals the bomber’s dual legacy of deterrence and humanitarian missions.

Tours are priced at £20 per person, and advance reservations are strongly recommended given the very limited availability. Participants must present e‑tickets to obtain their security passes and should plan to meet at the Vulcan to the Sky Trust office on the day of their visit. All proceeds from these events directly support the ongoing conservation of Vulcan XH558. By joining a tour, guests not only capture unforgettable photographs and memories but also help ensure that this revered Cold War icon continues to inspire future generations.
