The CAF Airbase Georgia, Peachtree City, GA, has announced plans to host Aviation Futures Day on November 14, alongside a week-long visit from the Commemorative Air Force RISE ABOVE Traveling Exhibit, an educational program highlighting the stories of the Tuskegee Airmen and Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP). The RISE ABOVE exhibit will be at Atlanta Regional Airport-Falcon Field from November 9-13, providing scheduled school groups with an opportunity to learn about the pioneering aviators while exploring Airbase Georgia’s collection of historic aircraft. The exhibit’s visit will culminate with Aviation Futures Day on November 14, when students and families will be able to meet representatives from aviation employers, colleges, universities, flight training organizations, and other industry partners. Organizers say the event is designed to help young people explore educational pathways and career opportunities in aviation and aerospace.

“Aviation history has an extraordinary power to inspire young people, but we also want to help them see where that inspiration can take them,” said Airbase Leader Mark Richards. “Aviation Futures Day allows us to connect the stories represented by our historic aircraft and the RISE ABOVE experience with the education, training, and career opportunities available to students today.” The RISE ABOVE Traveling Exhibit uses immersive displays and educational content to tell the stories of the Tuskegee Airmen and the WASP, two groups whose contributions helped expand opportunities in military and civilian aviation.

According to Richards, the exhibit’s appearance in Peachtree City was made possible through financial support from local sponsors and Airbase Georgia members. “We are especially grateful to Evans Delivery for their generous sponsorship, and to our Airbase Georgia members who contributed to help bring this experience to Peachtree City,” Richards said. He also noted that the program reflects the growing educational role of Airbase Georgia and the need for the organization’s planned facility expansion. “Aviation Futures Day also illustrates the demand for Airbase Georgia’s planned expansion of our Peachtree City facilities and educational capabilities,” he said. “The expansion will provide additional space to preserve and maintain historic aircraft, while creating new opportunities for education and community engagement.” Additional details regarding school participation, public registration, and participating aviation organizations are expected to be announced closer to the event.
