The CAF Airbase Georgia, Peachtree City,  has announced that Delta Air Lines will serve as the title sponsor of its inaugural “Moonlight Swing” gala, scheduled for October 17, 2026, at the organization’s hangar at Atlanta Regional Airport-Falcon Field. The 1940s-themed event, which coincides with America’s 250th anniversary, will also mark the public launch of Airbase Georgia’s campaign to expand its hangar and educational facilities. Plans call for additional space for museum exhibits, aircraft restoration projects, educational programs, and community events. “Moonlight Swing is more than a gala,” said Airbase Leader Mark Richards. “It is an investment in preserving our nation’s history while inspiring tomorrow’s innovators, aviators, and leaders. Every guest and every sponsor becomes part of that mission.”

Delta’s involvement continues a longstanding connection to aviation history. During WWII, the airline modified 916 military aircraft, overhauled more than 1,000 aircraft engines and instruments, trained Army Air Forces pilots and mechanics, and operated military cargo routes in support of the Allied war effort. Today, the airline continues its annual Normandy Legacy Flight program, which takes WWII veterans to France for D-Day commemorations. Airbase Georgia has spent nearly four decades restoring and operating historic military aircraft, honoring veterans, and introducing students to aviation history through educational programs and events. The organization also participates in Delta’s annual Veterans Day activities recognizing military veterans and airline employees.

Richards said the partnership reflects a common interest in preserving aviation heritage while supporting educational initiatives. The planned expansion will help accommodate the organization’s growing educational programs, including Aviation Futures Day, a regional event scheduled for November that will connect high school students with aviation employers, schools, and industry professionals. Several community organizations and businesses have also signed on as supporters of “Moonlight Swing”, including Visit Peachtree City, Timeless Occasions, Food Dude, Audio Visual Production Group International, 3 Guys Golf Carts, Invisible Man Pictures, and The Citizen.
