According to Monk, Swansea Airport, as the gateway to Gower and Swansea City, offers access to the breathtaking countryside and coastline of South Wales, making it an ideal location for both local residents and visitors to experience the flight of a lifetime. FlyaSpitfire.com currently operates flights from its headquarters and restoration center at Biggin Hill, along with regular dates at Cotswold Airport, Blackbushe Airport, Norwich Airport, and Blackpool Airport. Following interest from members of the public, the team at Swansea Airport is working diligently to prepare the necessary conditions for the inaugural flights, which are planned for early summer 2025.

Some passengers choose to fly generally straight and level, whilst others enjoy a more dynamic flight. Subject to suitable weather conditions, all passengers can experience gentle aerobatic maneuvers in the Spitfire, including a Victory Roll.  Photo by Tim Wallace.

The airfield, formerly RAF Fairwood Common, has a rich history as part of the 10 Group Fighter Command during World War II. Spitfire flights will complement the existing General Aviation operations at the site.
