Typhoon and Spitfire D-Day Flypast at The Royal Air Tattoo



Spitfire Eurofighter Flypast

On Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 July we also have a special flypast to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of D-Day when an RAF Typhoon from 29(R) Squadron and a Spitfire from the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will fly together, both in their D-Day markings. Another flypast is scheduled to commemorate the British aerobatic team Red Arrows.The Patrouille de France, Frecce Tricolori, Patrouille Suisse and the Breitling Jet Team will all take part in this tribute to the Red Arrows in their 50th Display Season, with a single aircraft from each flying in formation with the Red Arrows in their classic ‘Big Battle’ formation.

His aviation passion began early, inspired by his uncle, an F-104 Starfighter Crew Chief, and his father, a military traffic controller. Childhood adventures included camping outside military bases and watching planes at Aeroporto Linate. In 1999, he relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, to obtain his commercial pilot license, a move that became permanent. With 24 years in the U.S., he now flies full-time for a Part 91 business aviation company in Atlanta. He is actively involved with the Commemorative Air Force, the D-Day Squadron, and other aviation organizations. He enjoys life with his supportive wife and three wonderful children.
