“Wings, Tracks, and Wheels” at Planes of Fame Air Museum May 3-4

The weekend event at the Planes of Fame Air Museum in Chino, California will include flying demos, military vehicles, music, reenactors, and much more!

Planes of Fame Air Museum in Chino, California is turning back the clock to create an event packed full of history, one-of-a-kind excitement, and loads of family fun with their “Wings, Tracks, and Wheels” event on Saturday, May 3, and Sunday, May 4, 2025. Watch thrilling flying demos of World War II-era aircraft, stroll through a historic military encampment, admire dozens of military vehicles from the past plus over 100 aircraft on display, and learn about our military traditions. Rides in vintage aircraft will also be available as well as music from World War II with the Satin Dollz and their “Swingtime Serenade.” Take photos with re-enactors in full military gear, learn how to rivet, do battle with an R/C tank in the “Battle of the Tiny Tanks.” And don’t miss the grand finale of each day — the thrilling demonstration of the museum’s M4 Sherman Tank and the firing of her 75mm gun.

There will be lots of activities for the kids including Scale Model Workshops, hands-on fun, an inflatable obstacle course and a rock wall for climbing, and a great selection of food and drink will be available for everyone. Emma Quedzuweit is a historial researcher and graduate school student originally from California, but travels extensively for work and study. She is the former Assitant Editor at AOPA Pilot magazine and currently freelance writes along with personal projects invovled in the search for missing in action aviators from World War I and II.
