PRESS RELEASE – The B-29 Superfortress Doc will bring its B-29 Doc Flight Experience and ground display tour to California with five stops on the west coast September 19 through October 6. Doc’s California tour will include stops: Van Nuys, Chino, MCAS Miramar, San Diego and Sacramento. Each stop will feature B-29 Doc Flight Experience rides, along with ground and flight deck tours. “It’s been nearly 20 years since Doc was in California and this west coast tour features stops in the area near where B-29 Doc was rescued from the Mojave Desert at China Lake Naval Station two decades ago,” said Josh Wells, B-29 Doc general manager and executive director. “We are excited to bring Doc back to California to honor those men and women who worked so hard to rescue Doc from desolation, and who were the first heroes in Doc’s restoration story.”
The California tour follow tour stops in Albuquerque, NM and Phoenix, AZ, with those stops scheduled for Sept. 13-15 at Cutter Aviation at Albuquerque International Sunport, and Sept. 17-18 at Cutter Aviation at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, which were previously announced.
