B-29 Doc History Restored Tour Adds Stops in New Mexico and California

The B-29 Doc History Restored Tour will resume the 2021 tour season with stops in Albuquerque, NM, Chino, CA, and Inyokern, CA, in September and October. B-29 Doc, one of only two B-29 Superfortresses still airworthy and flying today, will launch its fall tour Sept. 17 through Oct. 4.

Doc will arrive at Cutter Aviation at Albuquerque International Sunport, Friday, Sept. 17, and will be available for B-29 Doc Flight Experience rides and ground and flight deck tours Friday, Sept. 17 through Sunday, Sept. 18. The tour stop in Chino, CA, will be hosted by Yanks Air Museum, Thursday, Sept. 23 through Sunday, Sept. 26. Doc will close the western tour with a stop at Inyokern Airport, Friday, Oct. 1 through Sunday, Oct. 4.

Event Details for B-29 Doc in Albuquerque, NM

Gates will open Friday, Sept. 17 for static ground and flight deck tours from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Ground and flight deck tours will also be available Saturday, Sept. 18, and Sunday, Sept. 18 from 12:30 p.m. to 4 p.m., following morning ride flights. Admission for the static display event and flight deck tours will be $10 per person. The flight schedule for the B-29 Doc Flight Experience is 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 18, and Sunday, Sept. 19. Visitors can enter the event in Albuquerque at Cutter Aviation, 2502 Clark Carr Loop S.E., Albuquerque, NM 87106. Tickets for static ground and flight deck tours can be purchased at the event.

Gates will open for ground and flight deck tours from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m, Thursday, Sept. 23, and Friday, Sept. 24. B-29 Doc Flight Experience rides will be available at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 25, and Sunday, Sept. 26, followed by afternoon ground and cockpit tours on both days. Admission for the static display event and flight deck tours will be $5 per person with the purchase of a Yanks Air Museum General Admission Ticket. Born in Milan, Italy, Moreno moved to the U.S. in 1999 to pursue a career as a commercial pilot. His aviation passion began early, inspired by his uncle, an F-104 Starfighter Crew Chief, and his father, a military traffic controller. Childhood adventures included camping outside military bases and watching planes at Aeroporto Linate. In 1999, he relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, to obtain his commercial pilot license, a move that became permanent. With 24 years in the U.S., he now flies full-time for a Part 91 business aviation company in Atlanta. He is actively involved with the Commemorative Air Force, the D-Day Squadron, and other aviation organizations. He enjoys life with his supportive wife and three wonderful children.
