Commemorative Air Force TRARON Formation Clinic Scheduled for November 13-16 in Carrollton, Georgia

The Commemorative Air Force will host its annual TRARON Formation Clinic from November 13-16, 2025, at West Georgia Regional Airport in Carrollton, GA. Open to CAF TRARON members, the event offers formation training in historic aircraft including T-6/SNJ/Harvard, Beech 18/C45, and T-34 Mentors.

The Commemorative Air Force (CAF) will host its annual TRARON Formation Clinic from November 13-16, 2025, at West Georgia Regional Airport (CTJ) in Carrollton, Georgia. Open to all CAF TRARON members, the clinic offers pilots the opportunity to enhance their formation flying skills in a range of historic aircraft. Training at the clinic will include T-6/SNJ/Harvard aircraft, Beech 18/C45s, and T-34 Mentors. Pilots interested in formation instruction with other aircraft types should contact clinic coordinator Matt Howell (click HERE) before registering to confirm aircraft availability. Participants are required to maintain active membership in both the Commemorative Air Force and CAF TRARON prior to arrival.

Clinic Schedule

  • Thursday, November 13 – Arrival and Ground School: Pilots arriving via commercial airline may request assistance with local transportation. Ground school will begin at 6:00 p.m., offering both initial and recurrent formation instruction. Pizza will be provided during the evening session.
  • Friday through Sunday, November 14-16 – Formation Training: Daily sessions will begin with a mandatory safety briefing at 8:00 a.m. Training will continue throughout the day and conclude on Sunday. Lunch will be provided each day, and Saturday evening dinner will be organized at a local restaurant, with costs covered by participants.

Participants must register online through the CAF Airbase Georgia website. The registration fee for the 2025 TRARON Formation Clinic is $150. Instructors who do not register online should email the clinic coordinator with their attendance and aircraft information. Click HERE for more information.

Born in Milan, Italy, Moreno moved to the U.S. in 1999 to pursue a career as a commercial pilot. His aviation passion began early, inspired by his uncle, an F-104 Starfighter Crew Chief, and his father, a military traffic controller. Childhood adventures included camping outside military bases and watching planes at Aeroporto Linate. In 1999, he relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, to obtain his commercial pilot license, a move that became permanent. With 24 years in the U.S., he now flies full-time for a Part 91 business aviation company in Atlanta.
