The Commemorative Air Force (CAF) will host its third annual Aviation Discovery Fest on October 3–4 at Dallas Executive Airport, offering visitors an immersive celebration of American airpower and military history. Additional ride opportunities will be available on Sunday, October 5. This year’s theme, Victory, commemorates the 80th anniversary of the Allies’ triumph in World War II, marking the end of the conflict in Europe in May 1945 and in Asia later that September. The two-day festival will feature historic warbirds, flight demonstrations, cockpit tours, veteran tributes, living history displays, and family-friendly activities.
Among the aircraft scheduled to appear are the B-29 Superfortress FIFI, B-24 Liberator Diamond Lil, Douglas R4D Ready for Duty, P-51 Mustang Red Nose, and AT-6 Nella. Many aircraft will be available for paid rides, offering enthusiasts the rare chance to experience history firsthand. Proceeds from flights help fund the maintenance and preservation of these irreplaceable aircraft. In addition to rides, several airplanes attending will offer cockpit tours and hands-on experiences. Veterans will share their stories throughout the weekend, often alongside the aircraft that shaped their experiences.
