Dyson, the company famous for its revolutionary vacuums and other household appliances has submitted a request to their local planning commission to place an English Electric Lightning F.1A on display outside the visitors entrance to their corporate headquarters in Wiltshire, England. If approved the plane will join the company’s Harrier Jump Jet which was placed on display there last year.
James Dyson claims that the Harrier was placed to serve as an inspiring reminder to his engineers that what seems impossible is often indeed possible with technological innovation, no word on the rationale behind the acquisition of the Lightning, perhaps Sir James just likes warbirds.
