Aviation Hall of Fame & Museum of New Jersey’s 2013 Wings and Wheels Expo will be held Fathers Day weekend, June 15-16 at Teterboro Airport in Teterboro, New Jersey. Intended as a family-friendly event the expo will feature WW II Airplanes, helicopters and other unique aircraft, military vehicles, fire engines and vintage and contemporary show cars with live entertainment.

The museum which is dedicated to preserving New Jersey’s aviation and space heritage is home to a number of unique exhibits including the rocket engine that propelled the North American X-15 to incredible speed and height records, the first American hovercraft invented by Charles Fletcher, several helicopters, a newly restored Grumman OV-1 Mohawk and many airplane models and other displays. The facility’s research library boasts more than 4,000 volumes and hundreds of aviation video tapes. The Expo will feature warbirds from the museum’s collection in addition to visiting planes that have flown in and will be on static display for show-goers.

Guests of Honor for this year’s event are “The Tuskegee Airmen.” Special features for kids include the Batmobile and Green Hornet cars as well as contests, interesting exhibitions, unique vendors and food concessions for an enjoyable experience for the whole family.

Born in Milan, Italy, Moreno moved to the U.S. in 1999 to pursue a career as a commercial pilot. His aviation passion began early, inspired by his uncle, an F-104 Starfighter Crew Chief, and his father, a military traffic controller. Childhood adventures included camping outside military bases and watching planes at Aeroporto Linate. In 1999, he relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, to obtain his commercial pilot license, a move that became permanent. With 24 years in the U.S., he now flies full-time for a Part 91 business aviation company in Atlanta. He is actively involved with the Commemorative Air Force, the D-Day Squadron, and other aviation organizations. He enjoys life with his supportive wife and three wonderful children.
