Huntington, IN – Vintage Aviation Publications, publisher of Warbird Digest, (warbirddigest.com) has announced the acquisition of Warbirds News ( vintageaviationnews.com), the popular online news platform dedicated to warbird restoration and aviation museums.

Warbird Digest was recently re-acquired by its original founder, Tim Savage, who first created the publication in 2004. As part of a strategic development plan, Savage wants to add a strong digital component to the company, hence the acquisition of Warbirds News.

“We are excited with our partnership with Warbirds News.  We believe that the best way to help promote the warbird movement is through a mixed media message which includes print, digital and video.  We look forward to continuing the excellent content that Warbirds News has delivered in the past.”

Warbirds News was founded in 2013 by Moreno Aguiari, who began with several years experience as an executive in the online industry already under his belt. What started as a simple blog, rapidly became one of the internet’s most popular sources for vintage aviation news, warbird restoration reports and aviation museum articles.

“We are a group of passionate warbird enthusiasts who love the history and technology that aviation museums and flying collections preserve for the public,” said Moreno Aguiari. “I started Warbirds News with the intention of playing a role in safeguarding the heritage of these fascinating machines by providing increased awareness and education about them through the use of internet-based, digital media.”

Warbirds News receives several hundred thousand visitors a month, and it has a big fan base on social media. “I am very excited about the opportunity of joining Tim and his team to develop a world-class vintage aviation media company. We have a great vision, and a lot of strong ideas to further tell the stories of the men and women who built, maintained and flew these beautiful aircraft.” Aguiari said.

Tim Savage will continue as President of Vintage Aviation Publication, while Moreno Aguiari will serve as Director of Marketing and Business Development.

  1. Have always loved working with warbirds at every airshow I announce. Keeping these aircraft in the air has always been a goal of mine, and to teach and to share their place in history. It will be great to be kept informed on the projects and aircraft that have accomplished so much in the defense of ours and other countries.

  2. Served 3 1/2 years in USAF, recip engine mechanic, worked on A-1E, A-26, T-28, C-123, & C-47. Served with the 1st ACW at Hurlbert Field and the 56th ACW at NKP Thailand. Very interested in the old War Bired!
