With the coming Arsenal Of Democracy fly past over Washington, DC on May 8th commemorating the 70th anniversary for the end of WWII, WarbirdsNews thought we would share the scheduled fly-over route so those of you whom can attend can pick the best spots to watch the aerial armada on its journey. The present schedule of events for Friday, May 8th is as follows….
10:30 am – Program starts at National World War II Memorial. (This is the one area which will require registration to attend – click HERE to find out how)
12:10 pm – The initial aircraft group will over the Lincoln Memorial .
12:35 pm – The Missing Man Formation will peal off above the Lincoln Memorial, concluding the flypast.
However, all of this is predicated on good weather. Should poor meteorological conditions prevent a flypast on May 8th, then there is a tentative plan to move the event to the following day, May 9th. Hopefully this will not prove necessary.

As we mentioned in a previous article HERE, several aircraft performing in the flypast, perhaps as many as twenty, will be present on static display at the National Air & Space Museum’s Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center for Family Day on Saturday, May 9th between 10 am and 3 pm. Museum admission is free, but parking costs US$15.
