Helicopter Rides at Air Zoo

PRESS RELEASE Brighten your summer with a ride in a Huey helicopter with the doors wide open and the wind rushing over your face. This experience is not your typical aircraft ride; you’ll feel the difference from lift-off to landing. It all takes place July 27-28 at the Air Zoo Flight Discovery Center located at 3101 E. Milham Avenue, Portage, MI 49002. For only $125.00, you can take a thrilling 10-minute flight with a new perspective from the air.  Book your ride in advance or take a chance and walk up that day. The Michigan Flight Museum Huey, Greyhound, served in the Vietnam War from 1967 until 1971.  It was part of the 240^th Assault Helicopter Company known as The Greyhounds, Mad Dogs, and Kennel Keepers. The Greyhound Bus Company was honored by the name and gave the company permission to use its logo.  A versatile helicopter, the UH-1 was used as a gunship, for medical evacuation and for utility purposes.
