The National Museum of the U.S. Air Force, Dayton, OH, has announced that families can celebrate Halloween at its annual Troops and Treats event on Saturday, October 31, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The free, family-friendly event will feature trick-or-treat stations, hands-on activities, games, entertainment and a farm-themed petting zoo. Visitors can collect treats at 14 stations located throughout the museum and hosted by community partners. The event will also offer a variety of activities for children and families, including face painting, balloon twisters, a bounce house and hands-on games.

Outside the museum, families can visit the Jungle Island Petting Zoo, which will feature mini zebu, alpacas, mini sheep, kune kune pigs, a llama and mini goats. Guests will also have the opportunity to feed the animals. This year’s farm theme connects with the museum’s recognition of America 250 and Ohio Food & Farms. The theme celebrates the traditions, communities and agricultural heritage that help make Ohio special. The event encourages families to come dressed in family-friendly Halloween costumes. Children should bring a bag, bucket or another container to collect treats while visiting the stations throughout the museum. For safety reasons, weapons of any kind are prohibited, including costume weapons and realistic-looking replicas. Troops and Treats is free and open to the public, although additional paid activities will also be available. The event is supported by the Air Force Museum Foundation; federal endorsement is not implied.
