Former pilots, engineers, and crew members will share personal reflections and memories, offering insight into the aircraft’s history and legacy.
A special moment of tribute will honor the pilots, engineers, and volunteers who have passed away in the decade since XH558’s final flight. The evening will also feature a Screen of Remembrance, displaying the names of those who served or worked on Vulcans, giving guests a chance to submit the names of loved ones, colleagues, or friends to be remembered on the big screen. The documentary, *The Last Flight of the Vulcan Bomber*, follows Guy Martin as he helps prepare XH558 for her farewell tour of the UK. It explores the aircraft’s history, engineering, and operational role during the Cold War, with exclusive access to the Vulcan to the Sky Trust volunteers tasked with readying the aircraft for its final flight. The film features behind-the-scenes footage at Hangar 3 in Doncaster, supplementary clips from XM655, and a look at the technical challenges involved in maintaining such a complex aircraft. Martin experiences the mechanics of the Vulcan first-hand before witnessing her final sortie, offering viewers an in-depth understanding of one of Britain’s most iconic bombers. This commemorative event promises an unforgettable evening of history, reflection, and celebration, honoring both XH558 and the people who dedicated their lives to preserving her legacy.
