The Museum of Flight, Seattle, WA, has announced that its annual Haunted Skies Halloween party for adults 21 and older will return on Saturday, October 24, with a Snakes on a Plane theme inspired by the 2006 film. The event will run from 8 to 11 p.m., bringing together live music, a movie screening, live snake demonstrations and a costume contest built around the film and early-2000s pop culture. The evening will feature three DJs, with Dolobeats opening from 8 to 9 p.m., followed by DJ RocRyte from 9 to 10 p.m. and DJ LouRawk from 10 to 11 p.m. A screening of Snakes on a Plane will run from 8:45 to 10:30 p.m., while food trucks, a cash bar and other activities will give guests options throughout the night.
Live snakes will be part of the event, too. Wildlife educator and content creator Jordan Veasley, known as Jungle Jordan, will host show-and-tell sessions at 8:30, 9 and 9:30 p.m., introducing guests to live snakes and sharing information about the animals. Veasley is known for his wildlife education and conservation work. The costume contest will feature three categories: First-Class Execution, for the most detailed and ambitious costume; Dead on Arrival, for the best victim costume, including looks inspired by snake bites, constriction or an in-flight medical emergency; and Best 2000s Pop Culture, for costumes inspired by the era around 2006. Judging begins at 10 p.m., and winners will receive tickets to other Museum of Flight evening events, including Hops & Props and Yuri’s Night.
Beyond the movie and costume contest, guests can take part in several activities around the museum. The evening will include tarot readings from Oracle of the Labyrinth, flash tattoos by Sweet Jones Fine Line Tattoos, henna body art by Henna by Preethi, live portrait illustrations and a beaded-keychain craft station. A photo booth inside a 737 airliner cabin will feature snakes and leis for themed pictures. Food will be available from The Original Philly’s and Jeremy’s Chicken, while a cash bar will serve drinks during the event. Tickets cost $55 for general admission and $50 for Museum of Flight members. Group rates are available for parties of 10 or more. Click HERE to get your tickets. The event is restricted to guests aged 21 and older and runs from 8 to 11 p.m. on October 24. For more information and to support the Museum of Flight, click on this link: www.museumofflight.org.
