The American Airpower Museum, Farmingdale, NY, has announced that its annual Haunted Hangar Halloween Party, themed “Fright Takes Flight,” will take place Saturday, October 24, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Hangar 3, 1230 New Highway. The event will feature Halloween activities, aircraft displays and family-friendly attractions inside the museum’s hangar, with the last admission at 3:30 p.m.
The museum, which describes itself as Long Island’s only flying military aviation museum, will transform Hangar 3 into a haunted setting filled with spider webs, flying bats, ghosts, ghouls, skeletons, vampires, witches and zombies. Costumed museum volunteers will hand out treats as children make their way through the hangar, allowing families to enjoy trick-or-treating indoors regardless of the weather. Several attractions will bring aviation into the Halloween festivities. Visitors can tour the Haunted Bomber, enter the Maze of Terror and take photographs in front of the “Ghost Fighter.” Weather permitting, children and parents can also climb aboard the “Ghost Flyer Express” for a ride around Hangar 3. Costumes are encouraged for both children and adults, and spooky music, including John Zacherle’s “Monster Mash,” will add to the festivities. Families should bring their own trick-or-treat bags.
Admission costs $20 for adults and $18 for seniors, active military personnel, first responders and veterans. Active Guard and Reserve personnel receive a 10% discount, while children ages 4 to 12 pay $12. Please note that library passes are not accepted.
