The American Airpower Museum Warbirds to Participate in FourLeaf Air Show Activities

The American Airpower Museum's collection of historic aircraft will take part in this year's FourLeaf Air Show at Jones Beach, with several museum warbirds scheduled to participate in formation and aerial demonstration flights during the July 5-6 event. Visitors can also enjoy flight experiences, watch practice flights, and explore special exhibits and activities at the museum's home base at Republic Airport in the days leading up to the show.

The American Airpower Museum in Farmingdale, NY, will once again send several of its historic warbirds to the FourLeaf Air Show at Jones Beach, where the aircraft are scheduled to take part in formation and aerial demonstration flights during the July 5-6 event. Aircraft expected to fly include the museum’s Douglas C-47B Skytrain, North American P-51D Mustang, Curtiss P-40M Warhawk “Flying Tiger,” Grumman TBM-3E Avenger, North American AT-6 Texans, and the museum’s WACO biplane. The museum, located at Republic Airport in Farmingdale, will also host a series of activities leading up to the air show. From July 1 through July 3, visitors will have opportunities to book flight experiences aboard the museum’s AT-6 Texan and WACO aircraft, while C-47 Skytrain flights are scheduled for July 3.

Visitors to the museum on July 3 and 4 will also be able to watch practice flights as participating aircraft prepare for their appearances at the FourLeaf Air Show. According to the museum, the practice sessions are expected to take place throughout the day and will be visible from the museum grounds. The museum is encouraging air show attendees to visit before or after the Jones Beach event to view the participating aircraft up close and meet the pilots and crews. During the air show weekend, visitors at Republic Airport will also be able to watch aircraft depart for and return from Jones Beach following their scheduled performances.

In addition to the museum’s warbirds, visitors at Republic Airport may see aircraft and performers associated with the air show, including the U.S. Navy Blue Angels, the Canadian Forces Snowbirds, and other civilian and military participants. Additional information about the show’s performers is available HERE. A temporary aviation-themed exhibit will also be set up at the museum during the holiday weekend. Dream BIG Entertainment’s “Top Gun Maverick F/A-18 Experience” will be located on the museum ramp from July 3 through July 5, allowing visitors to sit inside a full-size Navy F/A-18 cockpit replica and take photographs while wearing flight gear.

Beyond the air show activities, visitors can explore the museum’s collection of military aircraft, which includes Cold War-era jets such as the Grumman EA-6B Prowler, Republic RF-84 Thunderflash, Republic F-105 Thunderchief, and Fairchild Republic A-10A Thunderbolt II. The FourLeaf Air Show weekend begins with a fireworks display at Jones Beach on July 4, followed by aerial demonstrations on July 5 and 6. For more information about the air show, click HERE.
