The Vintage Aviator Flying Weekend

When

27/02/2016 - 28/02/2016

10:00 am - 4:00 pm

Where

Hood Aerodrome
South Road, Masterton, Wellington, Wairarapa

Event Type

Hood Aerodrome, Masterton is home to one of the world’s largest collections of flying WWI aircraft. The Vintage Aviator’s outstanding collection of original, reproduction and replica aircraft of the Great War era regularly take to the skies, recreating aerial war-time history. Come see the magic for yourself the last weekend of every month throughout the operational season (November- April, excluding March).

Flying weekends provide a great opportunity for the public to see the collection in the air, while allowing the pilots to routinely practice operating these war machines. Because flying weekends are more casual than past TVAL air shows, we suggest bringing your own seat and refreshments along.

Flying will be scheduled from 10.00am – 12.00pm and 2.00pm – 4.00pm Saturday and Sunday, with a Saturday only option of 6.00pm – 8.00pm if flying that day has been held up with weather. Guided hangar tours will also be offered on these days outside of the flying hours. All are welcome to attend. Photographers welcomed. Cash and EFTPOS are accepted.

2016 Flying Weekend Dates:

27th & 28th February 2016

March 2016 – Due to Easter and prior air show arrangements, there will be no flying weekend
