A major milestone has been achieved in the restoration of the Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-8/N owned by Türkiye’s MSÖ Air & Space Museum, as the aircraft’s wings and fuselage have now been successfully reassembled. As previously reported by Vintage Aviation News, the project—led by the MSÖ Air & Space Museum in collaboration with Mach Aviation Ltd.—aims to return one of the rare Turkish-operated Fw 190s to flying condition under the organization’s “Cultural Aviation Projects” initiative.

In a recent update provided to VAN, MSÖ founder Ali İsmet Öztürk confirmed that following an intensive eight-month restoration effort, the aircraft’s major structural components were reunited on April 18, 2026. Shortly after the wing-to-fuselage assembly, the restoration team installed the main landing gear, marking another significant step forward in the project.
The aircraft, a 1943-built example that once served with the Turkish Air Force, has undergone extensive work to bring it closer to airworthy condition. With the primary structural assembly now complete, the focus shifts to final systems integration and finishing work. According to Öztürk, the remaining stages of the restoration are expected to progress rapidly, with test flights currently planned to begin in July 2026.

Once completed, the MSÖ Fw 190A-8/N will represent one of the very few examples of the type worldwide to return to the air—and a unique flying tribute to Türkiye’s postwar operation of the iconic German fighter.
