The Museum of Flight, Seattle, WA, has announced a series of Veterans Day programs for Wednesday, November 11, featuring the Seattle premiere of a WWII documentary, a patriotic concert and firsthand stories from the Vietnam War. All programs are free with museum admission, and admission will be free for all veterans on Veterans Day. The day’s programs begin at 11 a.m. with a screening of 10 Good Men, a new documentary preserving the combat stories of 10 of the last remaining WWII veterans who flew the B-17 Flying Fortress. The film also features Dick Nelms, a WWII veteran and longtime museum volunteer.

The documentary’s director, Trent “TJ” Jones, will attend the screening and take part in a question-and-answer session with the audience afterward. Jones is the creator of the TJ3 History YouTube channel, which focuses on historical subjects. At 1 p.m., the Boeing Employees’ Concert Band will perform a concert of patriotic music as part of the museum’s Veterans Day observance. The program continues at 2 p.m. with author Betty “BJ” Prior sharing stories of Vietnam-era service members and their experiences both inside and outside the war zone. Prior served as a Military Air Command flight attendant and flew missions to Vietnam between 1969 and 1971.
Following her presentation, Prior will sign copies of her book, Behind My Wings: Untold Stories of Vietnam Vets, which recounts stories connected to those flights and the people involved. The Museum of Flight’s Veterans Day programs are free with regular museum admission. Veterans will receive free admission on November 11.
