Doc’s Friends Inc., which operates the B-29 Doc Hangar, Education and Visitors Center in Wichita, Kansas, has announced that B-29 DOC will join this year’s Moses Lake Airshow in Washington later this month. DOC is expected to arrive at Grant County International Airport on June 10 ahead of the airshow weekend. While in Moses Lake, the bomber will be used for cockpit tours, ride flights, and a planned appearance in the flying program. Visitors attending the event will also be able to tour the aircraft on the ground and purchase seats for scheduled flight experiences aboard the historic bomber.

The aircraft is expected to be on static display and open for cockpit tours during airshow activities on June 12, while organizers also plan to include DOC in the flying program on June 13. According to organizers, the bomber will participate in a legacy flight segment that will close out the show.

“As our nation celebrates its 250th anniversary, seeing the legacy of the legendary B-29 Superfortress alongside the iconic P-51D Mustang serves as a powerful reminder of how far American ingenuity has come,” said Micah Trautman, Chairman of the Board for the Moses Lake Airshow. “Family-friendly events like the Moses Lake Air Show are vital for fostering strong community bonds and inspiring the next generation of aerospace innovators. Through our STEAM initiatives, we hope to ignite a passion in young minds.” Ride flights aboard DOC are scheduled before and after the airshow on June 11 and 14. Cockpit tour admission during the event will cost $10 per person or $20 per family. Click HERE to get your tickets.

“Air shows do more than entertain — they inspire future generations, honor the legacy of those who served, and keep America’s aviation history alive,” said Mark Novak, B-29 DOC aircraft commander. “Having B-29 DOC involved provides a rare and powerful opportunity for people to experience a living piece of history firsthand, connecting audiences to the courage, innovation, and sacrifice that shaped our nation’s airpower heritage.” If you’re looking for a detailed event schedule for the Moses Lake Airshow, click HERE.
