PRESS RELEASE
Two iconic World War II aircraft will unite for a rare public appearance this weekend at the B-29 DOC Hangar, Education and Visitors Center in Wichita. The Commemorative Air Force’s C-47 That’s All, Brother will be on-site Saturday, July 12, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., offering visitors an unforgettable experience alongside B-29 DOC. Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the legendary B-29 Superfortress beginning at 12 p.m., while That’s All, Brother will be conducting ride flights throughout the day.
“We’re honored to welcome That’s All, Brother as part of our ongoing mission to connect people with living history,” said Josh Wells, executive director of B-29 DOC. “Having these two legendary warbirds together offers a powerful and immersive opportunity to experience firsthand the aircraft that helped secure victory during World War II. It’s a unique way to reflect on the service and sacrifice of those who flew them.”
Piloted by Lt. Col. John Donalson, That’s All, Brother led the main airborne assault on D-Day, June 6, 1944, heading a formation of more than 800 C-47s that carried over 13,000 paratroopers into Normandy. After the war, the aircraft was eventually retired and sat forgotten in a scrapyard until it was discovered and meticulously restored by the Commemorative Air Force.

“Bringing That’s All, Brother together with DOC allows us to tell two incredible stories of courage, sacrifice, and innovation in one place,” said JP Pritko, operations officer for the CAF Central Texas Wing. “It’s not just about the airplanes—it’s about honoring the legacy of the Greatest Generation.” That’s All, Brother is maintained and operated by the CAF’s Central Texas Wing based in San Marcos, Texas. Ride flights on July 12 are available for booking now at www.thatsallbrother.org. Admission to the event is $10 per person or $20 per family and includes access to the hangar, exhibits, and ground tours of B-29 DOC. Tickets can be purchased at the door on the day of the event.
