The Lone Star Flight Museum, Houston, Texas, will host its eighth annual Hangar Bash on Saturday, Oct. 3, bringing a 1970s and ’80s-inspired night of music, food, aviation, and fundraising to the museum. Presented by the Cole Gordon Foundation, the event will run from 5 to 10 p.m. at the museum’s facility on Aerospace Avenue. This year’s “Far-Out Disco” theme will put funk, soul, disco, and groove at the center of the evening, with guests encouraged to dress for the occasion. Beyond the music and food, Hangar Bash attendees will have access to the museum’s exhibits and flight simulators. The evening will also include tours of the Howard 250 and Douglas DC-3, along with the museum’s NASA Shuttle Simulators. The event will offer several opportunities for guests to take home something aviation-related, including a silent auction and raffle. Raffle participants will have a chance to win a flight in the museum’s North American T-6 Texan or Boeing-Stearman Model 75, also known as the PT-17 Stearman.
Funds raised through Hangar Bash will support the museum’s exhibits and educational programs, helping it continue its work of preserving aviation history and introducing visitors to the science and excitement of flight. Tickets are currently available in several options. General admission costs $55, or $50 for museum members, and includes drink tokens plus unlimited soda and water. VIP admission is $80, or $70 for members, and includes a swag bag, event gear, drink tokens, a pint glass, and unlimited soda and water. Designated-driver tickets are available for $35 and include an event T-shirt along with unlimited soda and water.
