The week of Oshkosh provides a unique opportunity not only to admire some of the most remarkable aircraft, particularly vintage airplanes but also for publishers and enthusiasts alike to connect with the people dedicated to preserving and operating these historic machines. Among these individuals is Eric Trueblood, co-founder of AirCorps Aviation. During EAA AirVenture 2024, Trueblood shared insights into AirCorps Aviation and the broader warbird industry.

Eric Trueblood has spent years immersed in the warbird and aviation sector, refining his skills and vision to serve a global clientele involved in the operation, maintenance, and management of historic aircraft. He joined Dan Matejcek, Erik Hokuf, and Mark Hoots in founding AirCorps Aviation in 2011. A creative thinker and graduate of the University of North Dakota Business College, Trueblood is constantly seeking innovative approaches to advance the field.

The creative freedom at AirCorps Aviation has been pivotal to Trueblood’s professional growth. Under his leadership, the team has embraced a proactive approach to addressing industry component needs, expanding on his initial concept of the AirCorps Library. This digital resource has grown into a vital tool for preserving aviation history and serving the warbird community. Trueblood is deeply passionate about preserving the stories behind the aircraft, attracting new talent to the industry, and ensuring the legacies of WWII veterans and their aircraft continue to inspire future generations.

Over the course of his career, Trueblood has witnessed nearly a dozen major aircraft restorations and repairs, as well as the excavation of two historic WWII fighter planes in Europe. A native of Minot, North Dakota, he credits his growth and success to the mentorship and integrity of aviation icons such as the Beck and Fagen families, Warren Pietsch, Bob Odegaard, and many remarkable customers.

Outside of aviation, Trueblood is dedicated to supporting his community. Married with two children, he actively participates in initiatives that uplift local and state programs, including efforts in the arts and STEM education. His passion for aviation and community development underscores his commitment to making a lasting impact in the industry and beyond. Enjoy the video!

Born in Milan, Italy, Moreno moved to the U.S. in 1999 to pursue a career as a commercial pilot. His aviation passion began early, inspired by his uncle, an F-104 Starfighter Crew Chief, and his father, a military traffic controller. Childhood adventures included camping outside military bases and watching planes at Aeroporto Linate. In 1999, he relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, to obtain his commercial pilot license, a move that became permanent. With 24 years in the U.S., he now flies full-time for a Part 91 business aviation company in Atlanta. He is actively involved with the Commemorative Air Force, the D-Day Squadron, and other aviation organizations. He enjoys life with his supportive wife and three wonderful children.
