Lone Star Flight Museum Releases Summer 2026 Lineup Featuring Camps, Aircraft Events, and New Exhibit

The Lone Star Flight Museum has released its Summer 2026 schedule, featuring aviation camps, STEM workshops, scouting programs, aircraft events, and family activities running through Labor Day. Highlights include a new Texas aviation exhibit, discounted admission programs, and expanded educational offerings for visitors of all ages.

The Lone Star Flight Museum, Houston, Texas, has outlined its Summer 2026 schedule, with aircraft displays, STEM programs, camps, exhibits, and family activities planned from Memorial Day through Labor Day at its Houston campus. The museum, located at 11551 Aerospace Avenue, will remain open daily through the summer season. Its Summer Passport to Fun program, sponsored by United Airlines, returns with an $80 Family Summer Pass that covers admission for two adults and three children from Memorial Day through Labor Day. Memorial Day programming earlier this summer included the museum’s Wings of Vietnam event, which brought Vietnam-era aircraft to the ramp on May 23 alongside hangar talks, flight simulators, crafts, and activities recognizing military service members. The museum also offered discounted Memorial Day admission as part of the weekend programming. We previously covered the event in detail. Click HERE to learn more. The museum’s current Plane of the Month program continues through May with the Beechcraft T-34B Mentor, a trainer aircraft that served as the U.S. Navy’s primary training platform for two decades. Summer camps return with Destination: Exploration programming running throughout June and July. Standard camps cost $315, with member pricing reduced to $275. Premium camps are priced at $340, with discounted member rates of $305. Camps run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with before and after care available for an additional fee. Families may bring lunches or preorder meals through Minuti Cafe. Several new camps have been added for 2026, including Up, Up, & Create for ages 7 to 9, offered June 8-12 and July 13-17; Innovators in Orbit for ages 7 to 9 from June 22-26; Robotics Challenge for ages 13-14 from June 29 through July 2; and Engineering for Takeoff for ages 10-12 from July 13-17.

Girls in Aviation STEM Flights also continue through the summer. The bi-weekly Saturday program, running through July 25 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., is aimed at girls ages 12 to 18 and focuses on STEM concepts tied to aviation careers. Admission is $10 for members and $12 for non-members. Click HERE to know more about the event. Scouting programs have also expanded. New Scouting America workshops include Search and Rescue Merit Badge, Model Design & Building Merit Badge, and Digital Technology Merit Badge sessions. A new Girl Scouts Cadette-level robotics workshop has also been introduced. Workshops generally run from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., and museum officials said American Heritage Girls workshops remain available through direct scheduling with troop leaders.

Programming for younger visitors continues through Tiny: Aviation Play for Toddlers, held on the second Tuesday of each month from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Sessions cost $10 for members and $12 for non-members. Themes include Tiny Ground Crew on June 9, Tiny Air Marshaller on July 14, and Tiny Jet Plane on Aug. 11. A major addition to the museum’s summer schedule is Made in Texas: 116 Years of Texas Aviation History, opening June 19 and running through Jan. 3, 2027. Created as part of America 250 programming, the exhibition looks at Texas aviation history through aircraft, artifacts, photographs, uniforms, and stories connected to the state’s role in aviation development. July programming shifts toward promotions through the museum’s Hot Deals Cool Planes campaign. Visitors will receive $10 general admission throughout the month, while Navigator-level memberships and higher will be discounted by $20. Labor Day weekend programming closes the summer schedule. Museum officials said September 7 visitors can expect discounted admission and complimentary hot dogs while supplies last. You can check out the schedule HERE. Alongside the seasonal programming, the museum’s Free Museum Day initiative, presented by ExxonMobil, will continue every Tuesday throughout 2026. Admission is free during normal operating hours, though visitors must register either online or in person. The museum describes itself as the only museum where the exhibits fly.
