Sweetwater, TX – October 2025 – The National WASP WWII Museum proudly announces that Dr. Rachael McClain will become Executive Director on October 27, 2025, succeeding Lisa Taylor, who will transition to the Museum’s Board of Directors to further advance its mission. Since the pioneering days of the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP), the story of this remarkable group has always been one of courage, transition, and legacy. Today, the Museum continues that tradition by celebrating a new chapter in leadership—one that will honor the WASP while inspiring future generations.

Dr. McClain brings extensive experience in education, community engagement, and women’s leadership. Most recently, as President of Collegiate Edu-Nation, she spearheaded innovative rural education initiatives across Texas and beyond, opening college and career pathways for thousands of students. Her expertise in workforce alignment and community empowerment will strengthen the Museum’s educational programs and expand its national reach.

“We know what it means to break barriers, and Dr. McClain embodies that same spirit,” said the Museum’s Board Chair. “Her vision for education and leadership will guide us into a new era of growth, ensuring the WASP story continues to inspire.” As part of this leadership transition, Lisa Taylor, the Museum’s current Director, will join the Board of Directors. Taylor’s institutional knowledge and enduring passion for the WASP legacy will help ensure continuity and long-term strategic success.

Born in Milan, Italy, Moreno moved to the U.S. in 1999 to pursue a career as a commercial pilot. His aviation passion began early, inspired by his uncle, an F-104 Starfighter Crew Chief, and his father, a military traffic controller. Childhood adventures included camping outside military bases and watching planes at Aeroporto Linate. In 1999, he relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, to obtain his commercial pilot license, a move that became permanent. With 24 years in the U.S., he now flies full-time for a Part 91 business aviation company in Atlanta. He is actively involved with the Commemorative Air Force, the D-Day Squadron, and other aviation organizations. He enjoys life with his supportive wife and three wonderful children.
