The Planes of Fame Air Museum will reopen to the public March 18, after closing temporarily in March due to COVID-19. San Bernardino County has transitioned to the “Substantial” or “Red” tier in the California Roadmap to Recovery program associated with the Covid-19 pandemic. Under these guidelines, Planes of Fame Air Museum is permitted to allow controlled access to all the interior areas of the Museum provided we maintain 25 percent capacity at all times.
Guests will be able to visit the majority of hangars within the Museum campus. Museum Guides wearing masks and maintaining social distance will tell the stories related to the aircraft. The Aviation Discovery Center, Museum Research Library, Model Room, and Theater remain closed until further notice. Anyone not feeling well or anyone who has been exposed to someone who has tested positive for Covid-19 is asked not to visit at this time.
On Saturdays and Sundays, the Museum’s Boeing B-17 “Flying Fortress” will be open to visitors to safely enter and learn about the men and women who designed, built, and flew these massive bombers during World War II. The museum’s visitors will be able to visit the new Combat Art Gallery Exhibition “In The Highest Tradition – WWII Medal of Honor Art,” featuring the paintings of Col. Charles H. Waterhouse, USMC (Ret.) Hours are from 10:00am until 4:00pm Thursdays through Sundays.
Discount pricing remains in effect ($12.00 per adult, $5.00 for children 5-11, and 4 and under are Free. The Museum’s Gift Shop is open. The Museum is open to guests Thursdays thru Sundays. Hours of operation are 10:00am until 4:00pm. For more information visit www.planesoffame.org
