Vintage Aircraft Association Unveils Aircraft Gatherings and Youth Programming for AirVenture 2025

The Vintage Aircraft Association is bringing a rich array of historic aircraft and engaging activities to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2025. From a major gathering of Cessna 180/185s to centennial celebrations for Travel Air and Fairchild, vintage aviation will take center stage.

The Vintage Aircraft Association (VAA) is set to bring a vibrant celebration of aviation history to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2025, with a dynamic lineup of aircraft gatherings, youth activities, and educational programming planned throughout the week. Among the featured highlights in the Vintage area will be a large gathering of Cessna 180/185 aircraft, with more than 50 examples already confirmed to attend. In addition, this year marks the 100th anniversary of both Travel Air and Fairchild aircraft manufacturing companies. In honor of these centennial milestones, a special assembly of aircraft from each company will be showcased on the grounds.

The Charles W. Harris Youth Aviation Center, which made its debut at AirVenture 2024, will expand its offerings for young aviation enthusiasts in 2025. The center will host two Teen Nights on July 23 and July 25 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., giving teenagers a chance to connect with peers through games, activities, and social engagement. For younger visitors, hands-on educational workshops for ages 6–12 will run daily from July 22–27, focusing on basic aerodynamics, aviation principles, and tool usage.

Returning for 2025 is the popular Vintage in Review series, a collection of informal presentations and interviews highlighting notable aircraft and the aviators who preserve and fly them. A full schedule for Vintage in Review will be released in the coming weeks. With something for all ages and interests, the Vintage Aircraft Association’s presence at AirVenture 2025 promises to be a must-visit experience for aviation enthusiasts and families alike. Born in Milan, Italy, Moreno moved to the U.S. in 1999 to pursue a career as a commercial pilot. His aviation passion began early, inspired by his uncle, an F-104 Starfighter Crew Chief, and his father, a military traffic controller. Childhood adventures included camping outside military bases and watching planes at Aeroporto Linate. In 1999, he relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, to obtain his commercial pilot license, a move that became permanent. With 24 years in the U.S., he now flies full-time for a Part 91 business aviation company in Atlanta. He is actively involved with the Commemorative Air Force, the D-Day Squadron, and other aviation organizations. He enjoys life with his supportive wife and three wonderful children.
