GORDON R. PAGE SELECTED FOR HALL OF FAME
Induction into Colorado Aviation Hall of Fame set for October 10, 2015
Erie, Colorado, Tuesday, September 8th, 2015: Spirit of Flight museum founder Gordon R. Page has been unanimously selected for induction into the Colorado Aviation Hall of Fame by the Colorado Aviation Historical Society. He is the sole inductee for the Colorado Aviation Hall of Fame class of 2015.
“I turned a childhood passion about anything airplanes into a business, but never expected this honor,” said Gordon Page, President of the Spirit of Flight museum. “I am truly humbled to be in such great aviation pioneer company,” he added.
Dr. Penny Hamilton and Colorado Pilot Association legend, Walt Barbo co-nominated Gordon Page for induction into the Hall of Fame. “Gordon is extremely qualified, and passionate about Colorado aviation history,” said Dr. Hamilton, a laureate of the Colorado Aviation Hall of Fame. “His list of accomplishments made him a perfect candidate for the Hall,” she added.
“The Hall of Fame induction motivates me to push even harder to save aviation history and educate the public on aviation history,” Page said. “I have lots of big ideas for the next step in my aviation career, including a new book and filming for a possible TV show, so stay tuned,” he added.

About the Colorado Aviation Hall of Fame- Since 1966, the Colorado Aviation Historical Society has honored the State’s historic aviators and conducts the nomination process for induction into the Colorado Aviation Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame is part of the Heritage Hall Exhibit Room located in the Wings Over the Rockies Air and Space Museum. Exhibits in the Heritage Hall are rotated periodically and depict such history as the Colorado Air National Guard, general aviation, women in aviation, timeline of aviation history, and Colorado civil and commercial aviation. The Hall of Fame induction ceremony is held during the Society’s annual Banquet.
The 2015 Hall of Fame induction ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, October 10, 2015 at the Lakewood, Colorado Country Club.
About the Spirit of Flight Center– Founded in 1998, the non-profit Spirit of Flight Center facility features over 1000 aviation artifacts at its Erie (CO) Municipal Airport facility. Aircraft including a rare German Messerschmitt Bf-109, North American P-51 Mustang and a Douglas A-4 Skyhawk fighter jet are among the collection.

Richard Mallory Allnutt's aviation passion ignited at the 1974 Farnborough Airshow. Raised in 1970s Britain, he was immersed in WWII aviation lore. Moving to Washington DC, he frequented the Smithsonian’s National Air & Space Museum, meeting aviation legends.
