The Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) will celebrate the legacy of the 100th Bomb Group and the Apple TV+ miniseries Masters of the Air at its annual Wright Brothers Memorial Banquet on December 12, 2025. The event, which commemorates the pioneering flights of the Wright brothers on December 17, 1903, will be held in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, with tickets available through the EAA website. Attendance is limited to 350 guests.

This year’s banquet will feature two special speakers. Rebecca Crosby Hutchinson, daughter of 100th Bomb Group navigator Harry Crosby—one of the key figures depicted in Masters of the Air—will share her father’s wartime experiences. Michael Faley, executive vice president of the 100th Bomb Group Foundation and technical advisor for the miniseries, will provide additional insight into the group’s history and its portrayal on screen.

The 100th Bomb Group, nicknamed the “Bloody 100th” for its significant losses during World War II, flew B-17 Flying Fortresses and completed more than 300 combat missions. Its first mission took place on June 25, 1943, over Bremen, Germany. Several of these missions are depicted in Masters of the Air, a miniseries created by John Shiban and John Orloff and based on Donald L. Miller’s book of the same name. The series premiered on January 26, 2024, to positive reviews and received three Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Award nominations, winning one.
Doors for the banquet will open at 5:00 p.m., with dinner served at 6:30 p.m., followed by the presentation. Tickets are priced at $85 for EAA members and $100 for nonmembers. The annual event honors the Wright brothers’ groundbreaking first flights at Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, which launched the era of manned flight and continues to inspire aviation enthusiasts around the world.
