The Shuttleworth Collection will host the Summer Air Show 2025 on Saturday, 26 July 2025, at the Old Warden Aerodrome in Bedfordshire. The family-friendly event promises a relaxed atmosphere and a wide variety of attractions, catering to all interests.
The aerial displays will feature breathtaking performances by both visiting and Collection aircraft, showcasing the history of aviation in action. Visitors will also have the opportunity to explore a remarkable collection of vintage vehicles, providing insights into the evolution of automotive engineering. The beautifully maintained Regency Garden will offer a tranquil retreat, while discovery zones will feature free activities designed to educate and entertain visitors of all ages. A fun fair with classic rides will add a nostalgic charm, and a range of food and drink options will cater to diverse tastes.
A highlight of the event is an extraordinary lineup of rare and historic aircraft. Among them are the Avro Anson C.19, Avro Triplane, and Avro 504K, as well as the Blackburn B2, Blackburn Type D Monoplane, and the iconic Blériot XI. The Gloster Gladiator I, de Havilland DHC-1 Chipmunk, de Havilland DH.51 ‘Miss Kenya,’ de Havilland DH.60X Moth, DH.82 Tiger Moth, and the sleek DH.88 Comet will also grace the skies. Powered by an ORENDA 14 jet engine delivering 7,400 pounds of thrust, it represents the pinnacle of the ORENDA engine lineage. The Sabre Mk.6 is renowned for its exceptional high-altitude performance and superior low-speed handling, thanks to the reintroduction of wing leading-edge slats. It is widely considered the finest variant of the 16 types produced among the 10,000 Sabres built.
The event will run from 09:00 to 21:00, with air show displays scheduled from 14:00 to 17:30 and 19:30 to 20:30.
