The iconic B-25 Mitchell bomber Yellow Rose will be on static display alongside the B-29 DOC at the B-29 DOC Hangar, Education and Visitors Center in Wichita from August 19–26, 2025. Operated by the Commemorative Air Force Central Texas Wing in San Marcos, Texas, Yellow Rose shares a powerful historical connection with the B-29. The B-25 gained fame as the aircraft used by the Doolittle Raiders in 1942, marking the first U.S. air attack on mainland Japan during World War II. Just three years later, the B-29 played a pivotal role in the war’s closing chapters, delivering the final missions that led to Japan’s surrender on September 2, 1945.
