The Boeing B-29 Superfortress “DOC” is set to return to the Spirit of St. Louis Air Show & STEM Expo in June 2026, bringing one of the few remaining airworthy World War II bombers back to St. Louis. As one of only two B-29 bombers still flying today, DOC’s appearance will give air show spectators a rare opportunity to see, hear, and experience the aircraft. The bomber will also be available for ride flights and cockpit tours during the event “The B-29 Superfortress helped shape the course of aviation history, and having DOC visit the Spirit of St. Louis Air Show is a powerful reminder of the innovation and courage that defined the Greatest Generation,” said John Bales, Executive Director of the Spirit of St. Louis Air Show & STEM Expo. “It’s an incredible opportunity for our guests to connect with that history in a very tangible way.”

DOC is scheduled to arrive at Spirit of St. Louis Airport on June 2. Ride flights will be offered ahead of the show on June 3 and 4, with tickets available at www.b29doc.com/rides. “Having B-29 DOC at an air show is about more than just the airplane — it’s about the story of aviation,” said Mark Novak. “When you see DOC alongside other historic aircraft and modern performers, it really shows how far aviation has come. Being part of an event like this helps us honor the legacy of those who came before us while hopefully inspiring the next generation of pilots and aviation enthusiasts watching from the ground. The 2026 appearance will mark DOC’s third visit to the St. Louis event, following previous appearances in 2018 and 2022. “We’re excited to bring B-29 DOC back to the Spirit of St. Louis Air Show,” said Josh Wells. “Every time DOC flies into a community, it’s an opportunity to connect people with the history and legacy of the Greatest Generation. Seeing this iconic bomber again in front of aviation fans at such a premier event is something our entire crew looks forward to—and the hospitality of the aviation community and air show fans in St. Louis is among the best in the country.” For more information and to support Doc’s Friends, click on this link: www.b29doc.com.
