The Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Red Tail Squadron, America’s tribute to the Tuskegee Airmen, has announced its summer and fall itinerary for the RISE ABOVE Traveling Exhibit mobile theater and the restored P-51C Mustang Tuskegee Airmen. These innovative outreach vehicles offer a unique and free opportunity for all ages to experience the inspiring story of the Tuskegee Airmen—the nation’s first Black military pilots and their support personnel. The mission of the CAF Red Tail Squadron is to educate audiences nationwide about this extraordinary chapter of history so that the Airmen’s strength of character, courage, and perseverance in the face of adversity can inspire others to rise above obstacles and achieve their own goals. Every stop on the tour gives local communities the chance to learn about one of the most remarkable and often overlooked groups in American history.

The RISE ABOVE tour opens in February with the exhibit and Mustang appearing in Tallahassee, Florida from February 11–14, where visitors can view the aircraft and explore the mobile theater’s immersive storytelling experiences. In March, the exhibit travels to the Macon County Historical Museum in Illinois, March 10–14, offering school showings mid-week and public access over the weekend. Spring continues in April with a stop at Heroes of Flight Air Show in South Carolina from May 1–3, where the Mustang and exhibit will be featured among other attractions. As summer begins, the tour heads to Jesup Farmers Day in Iowa, July 9–11, and then to Discover Aviation STEM Day in South Dakota on July 16, both presenting the story of the Tuskegee Airmen to broad audiences. The Sioux Falls Air Show July 18–19 offers additional opportunities to engage with the exhibit and aircraft. Continuing into August, the RISE ABOVE Traveling Exhibit and Mustang will be on display at the Rochester International Air Show from August 7–9 and at the Pistons & Props Air Show in Wisconsin from August 28–30, where they will be part of dynamic airshow programming and static displays throughout the weekend. The tour extends into the fall with the Grand Junction Air Show in Colorado, October 2–4, 2026, rounding out a season designed to connect communities with the legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen and the lessons they embody. At each location, the RISE ABOVE Traveling Exhibit’s mobile theater presents compelling films and educational materials that bring history to life, while the iconic P-51C Mustang—the signature aircraft of the Tuskegee Airmen—serves as a powerful, tangible symbol of their service and sacrifice.

The CAF Red Tail Squadron is a volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to educating audiences across the country about the history and legacy of the Tuskegee Airmen, America’s first black military pilots and their support personnel. Their three-fold outreach program includes an authentic, fully restored WWII-era P-51C Mustang, the signature aircraft of the Tuskegee Airmen; the RISE ABOVE Traveling Exhibit 53’ mobile theater featuring the original panoramic film “Rise Above”; and educational materials and programs for teachers and youth leaders.
