PRESS RELEASE – Aviation enthusiasts and history buffs will have a rare opportunity to see and fly in meticulously restored World War II aircraft during Special Warbird Rides Days at DeKalb-Peachtree Airport (PDK) on May 24-25. Hosted by Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Airbase Georgia, the event runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day, featuring flight experiences and static displays of legendary warbirds. The event commemorates two major milestones: the 80th anniversary of VE Day, marking the end of WWII in Europe, and the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps. Five historic aircraft based in Peachtree City, GA, will be on-site, including the iconic P-51 Mustang, SBD Dauntless dive bomber, LT-6 Mosquito, PT-19A Cornell trainer, and T-34 Mentor.

Born in Milan, Italy, Moreno moved to the U.S. in 1999 to pursue a career as a commercial pilot. His aviation passion began early, inspired by his uncle, an F-104 Starfighter Crew Chief, and his father, a military traffic controller. Childhood adventures included camping outside military bases and watching planes at Aeroporto Linate. In 1999, he relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, to obtain his commercial pilot license, a move that became permanent. With 24 years in the U.S., he now flies full-time for a Part 91 business aviation company in Atlanta. He is actively involved with the Commemorative Air Force, the D-Day Squadron, and other aviation organizations. He enjoys life with his supportive wife and three wonderful children.
