The Restorers – Mike Porter on Warbird Restoration

Aircorps Art Dec 2019

Recently Kara and Adam, producers of The Restorers” have been getting a lot of posts on their Facebook page by people who want to make a career out of restoring old airplanes. People have been asking them, “How do I get to do that for a living?” So they thought they would ask someone who happens to restore vintage airplanes.

Mike Porter was good enough to answer their questions while they were filming with him for one of the episodes featuring his restored Stearman, which was stationed at Avenger Field with the Women Air Service Pilots during WWII. Here is their short video featuring Mike Porter explaining what it takes to become involved in aircraft restoration.
