The Corporate Engineering Challenge is one of its regional outreach efforts aimed at building confidence and interest in science and engineering at an early age. While the main challenge is reserved for registered participants, museum visitors will also be able to take part in the day. From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the same 16 companies will host activity tables throughout the Air Zoo. Guests with regular admission can try hands-on engineering activities tied to advanced manufacturing, health care, automation, energy, and other applied sciences represented in the region. Organizers say the goal is simple: give young students a chance to see what engineering looks like up close and meet the people who do the work every day.
