The Commemorative Air Force (CAF) today launched 12 Planes of Christmas, its annual winter fundraising initiative dedicated to preserving and restoring America’s historic military aircraft. The campaign highlights twelve CAF aircraft currently in need of restoration, maintenance, or repair—each representing a unique chapter of aviation history. Through this seasonal effort, the CAF invites supporters to help keep these irreplaceable warbirds flying for future generations. Contributors may choose to donate in honor of a veteran, a loved one, or simply out of a passion for aviation. Every gift directly supports the ongoing stewardship of these rare artifacts.

Participants can direct their donation to a specific aircraft featured in this year’s campaign or contribute to the CAF Restoration Grant Fund, a dollar-for-dollar matching program that accelerates critical restoration work across the organization. By supporting 12 Planes of Christmas, donors help ensure that these living history aircraft continue to educate, inspire, and honor through the enduring power of flight. Childhood adventures included camping outside military bases and watching planes at Aeroporto Linate. In 1999, he relocated to Atlanta, Georgia, to obtain his commercial pilot license, a move that became permanent. With 24 years in the U.S., he now flies full-time for a Part 91 business aviation company in Atlanta.
